Baby Names

Baby Names is one of the hardest things for an expectant parent to choose. Modern baby names are showing two different trends, including the classic baby names that go back all the way to the Bible and the unique baby names that are rising fast. The list of celebrity baby names is full of unique and barely heard of names such as Zahara and Suri. While the top 10 boy baby names contains 9 Biblical names. The list of girl baby names shows the classic names Sophia and Ava climbing toward the top. These two different trends is making it especially difficult for parents to choose a baby name.

When choosing a baby name you should start by deciding if you prefer a unique or a more classic baby name. You may also want to see if there are any family baby names that you like. As you look at the lists of names try shortening the names to see what sort of nicknames may come from them and if you like those as well. For example Victoria can be shortened to Vicky and Tori. You may not like the name Vicky but prefer the name Tori, so you may even want to name her just Tori. Don’t forget that this name is what your baby will be called when she grows up, so “Baby” may not be a name that she will like later.
